Welcome to the Pumpkin Cottage holiday house tour! This is our 1st holiday in this house and I have had a blast decorating it (and I've given the economy a little boost as well). Hope you enjoy your stop by:
Here she is in all of her snowy glory. For real, this is what I braved last night to get a picture of the outside of our house. I love Minnesota at Christmastime! I have a single candle in every window as well as a wreath and bow on the upper sash. I have always wanted to have enough windows to pull this off - and short of moving to New England I think I'm pretty darn close!

Here's a close up of one of the windows (with the Christmas tree peeking through behind it)

This is a basket I made last year that has some fake snow crystals on it - and it looks even better when the real ice and snow latch on!

O Christmas Tree, how I love thee =) I like a "woodsy" themed tree and so I have cranberry garland, holly berry lights, wooden stars, and rustic ornaments. I'll go into a bit more detail of some of my favorite ornaments during
Kimba's Party on Tuesday!

Here's our family room and fireplace. I wish I could say I've tacked up those cords on the side of the fireplace, but alas I have done nothing except curse them every time I plug in the lights.

This garland is nothing special (so not Nester worthy - next year I swear) but I do LOVE my candle string. There are 9 mini LED candles strung together - I got them from Restoration Hardware last year for my birthday from my hubby (read: I made him buy them for me)

The side table in the family room has a Cobbler's house and a pretty cranberry-evergreen scented candle.

At a late season flea market this fall I found exactly what I set out for: a distressed fireplace mantle!! We had this dead wall in our living room and since the room only houses a lonely chair 11 months out of the year (currently the tree fills some space) I needed something to fill this wall. This was my cheap but funky solution. Eventually I will accessorize this baby with a votive screen or something, but it was fun to decorate with some simple stockings and garland this season.

My mom picked up this "Be Merry" sign for me - I can't get enough of wooden quote signs.

Remember the
old window frame/new coat rack in my foyer?? It got a cute scarf this season!

The ledge next to the front door holds a bowl full of jelly - no wait, ornaments! And a woodsy winter piece of art!

The candlesticks on top of my hutch each got a fancy candle ring.

I threw some pinecones and faux pomegranates in a verdigris bucket and stuck in those weird white picks (maybe I won't do that next year...) I was on cloud nine when I found this runner at Homegoods in early Nov.

For our wedding, one of our guests gave us a collection of 5 really nice Christopher Radko Christmas ornaments and this beautiful platter. It's way to nice to put food on, so it sits on top of my cabinets during this season!

Who doesn't love the seizure inducing multi-color chasing lights? I decided to put them on my twigs in the porch. I'm sure they drive our backyard neighbors crazy :)

Another idea I love - coffee beans and a candle make a hurricane that you can smell when you walk in the front door! I don't drink coffee, but I can't get enough of that smell.

A porch window:

Mistletoe!!

The guest bathroom has a few wintry touches.

The powder room toilet get accessorized.

Powder room sink

This wreath hangs in our master bedroom window.

Another view :)

Lastly, the master bedroom dresser with a cute mirror tree!

Thanks for hanging in there on this long tour. I wish I could offer you some cookies and hot cocoa as a reward! If your eyes can still focus on your computer screen, go on over to
Hooked on Houses to finish the other tours. I look forward to seeing
your home :)
Seasons Greetings!!

I'm so jealous of your snow. I want to have snow. And I think it's lovely how you've put little touches of the Season all over the house.. I never think to do the Master Bedroom. Great tip.
